At KAPS was held a lecture on security issues "NATO and the future of Euro-Atlantic security" by professor and military Defense College of NATO

Vushtrri, February 22, 2017 - Academy of Public Safety,  before the Faculty students, today was held a lecture on security issues "NATO and the future of Euro-Atlantic security" by professor and military Defense College of NATO comprising of: Giorgio Battisti Lieutenant General Commander of the Army Training and Doctrine Italian Dr. Brooke A. Smith-Windsor Deputy Head of the Division of Research at the College of Defense of NATO, Colonel Giuseppe Morabito Former Faculty Director of the Middle East Defense College of NATO and Dr. Arian Starova President of the Atlantic Council of Albania.
 

Guests from the College of Defence of NATO were welcomed by the Deputy Minister of Interior Valdet Hoxha, Director General of the Academy Ismail Smakiqi, Dean of the Faculty of Security at KAPS Bejtush Gashi, Brigadier General KSF Joy Hazrolli Secretary General of Euro-Atlantic Association of Kosovo Agron Jusufi and the higher management of the Academy. In a lecture attended the permanent partners of Academy, the OSCE, ICITAP, the experts of the Twinning project, teachers and students of the Faculty of Public Security.
 
Thanking the delegation for visiting the academy director Smakiqi said that NATO organization itself for all of us is equivalent to the meaning of freedom.
Later Smakiqi Director informed the delegation about the history of the Academy, priorities, recent developments and international cooperation, noting the continued support they have given to the country in all international organizations, among them NATO.
In his speech Smakiqi said that the Academy is a function of higher education and training for all law enforcement and security institutions.

Smakiqi said that in addition to the regular teaching process in the Academy, there are held a series of lectures by security institutions from Europe, adding that it is our privilege that among today we have General, Defense College professor of NATO.

While the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Valdet Hoxha, expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Minister Skender Hyseni, said, "We are very happy that the Academy for Public Safety which is considered as one of the best in the region is an agency of the Ministry of Interior, but above all it is part of the successful security mechanisms of the Republic of Kosovo ".
 

Also Hoxha expressed the views and support of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Academy in such initiatives that contribute to the country, where in particular thanked the Director Smakiqi for his work and commitment of its staf on building an institution that KAPS it has become today.
He also encouraged the students to use these lectures and to translate them into results at positions which they hold in institutions that they come from.
 

Dean of the Faculty of Security at the Academy Bejtush Gashi said he feels satisfied with the presence of officials of NATO and the organization of this discourse on these important day for Kosovo and the region that the international experts to receive visions for the future of NATO s and euro-Atlantic security and prospects of Kosovo and the region for integration into these structures.

While Arian Starova Albania President of the Atlantic Council, said he was happy being present at the Academy today an safety institution, a wonderful work that is being done, by thanking  Director Smakiqi, Dean Bejtush Gashi, Deputy Hoxha. He said that the cooperation in this direction will continue even in the future with KAPS.


Then the NATO Senior officials by expressing their gratitude for the Academy, held lecture before the students and the audience in the hall connected with NATO, its mission, membership as about the latest developments of this mission, which finally had questions and discussions by attendees.
