Director Smakiqi is taking part in an Annual Conference of AEPC

Vushtrri, October 06, 2016 -Mr. Ismail Smakiqi Director General of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety, accompanied by Mr. Avni Istrefi, Head of the Division for Foreign Relations were taking part in the annual conference of the Association of European Police Colleges AEPC Annual Conference - Association of European Police Colleges (Association of European Police Colleges).

The Academy is an observer member of this Association since September 2009, which includes Police Academies of European countries and broader. In this Association’s web-site is published the schedule of trainings of the academies members, including trainings of KAPS (as an offer to a reciprocal participation in training).

The conference is developing its work in Antalya, Turkey from 05-07 October with the topic “Radicalism Prevention and its implementation in Police Training". During this conference will be held a meeting of the Conference Steering Board

Opening speech was held by Prof. Dr. Yilmaz Colak, the president of TNPA, Vice President of AEPC, while the official opening was held by Dr Norbert Leitner, President of AEPC.

On the first day of the conference speeches were held by the experts in the field of prevention   of violent radicalism:
Prof. Dr. Bayram Ali SONER - "The issues and processes related on combating radicalism";
Fatma Ceren YAZGAN from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Turkey - Deputy Director General for Security Affairs and Intelligence - "Cycle of radicalism";
Dr. Bibi van Ginkel, a researcher at the Clingendael Institute - "State of legislation in Europe regarding Radical groups"
Dr Omar Ashour, Senior Lecturer at the University of Exeter, - Ways and best practices of learning about radicalism in Police Training "and
Darren COVENTYA Howlett, Garda, Ireland - “Training Guide in the field of Radicalism".

In the second day of the conference continues its work with a meeting of the Steering Board of the Association and approval of the Final Declaration of the Conference.
