German KFOR visited the Academy

Vushtrri, 21 September 2016 - The Director General of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS), Ismail Smakiqi hosted today a delegation of German KFOR, led by the commander of the contingent Siegfried ZEYER.
 
During the meeting, the director Smakiqi informed the KFOR delegation about developments in the Academy, focusing on professional training of public safety officials and higher education held by the Faculty of Public Safety.

The delegation was informed about the history of the Academy, development strategy, action plan KAPS for the year 2014 - 2018, for the twinning project that aims to strengthen education in the field of security and international cooperation.

Smakiqi director spoke about KAPS cooperation with KFOR, as well as various institutions of the Federal Republic of Germany, as the German Police University in Münster, the possibility of cooperation with University of Brandenburg of Applied Sciences Officer, as well as projects funded by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany through the Mission in Kosovo OSCE, such as mutual visits of officials from the University of German  Police in Münster and KAPS, donation  of the books for the Faculty of Public Safety and Conference "Interconnection with networks", held in Pristina in October 2015.

At the meeting, Director Smakiqi thanked Colonel ZEYER for the donation of containers for the training needs of the Agency for Emergency Management.

Meanwhile, the director congratulated Colonel Siegfried ZEYER Smakiqi to Attaining Academy. Speaking to engage KFOR in maintaining peace and security in Kosovo, ZEYER said it is very important security point of view, stating reduction of  KFOR commitment  because of the security situation in the country, which always more is improving

Zeyer  said that Kosovo Academy for Public Safety is a very important institution for public safety in Kosovo.

Colonel Zeyer promised that the support and cooperation for the Academy will be continued further.

Finally, the delegation visited KAPS premises and thanked the hosts for hospitality.
