Training for the Special Operations Tactics is completed

Vushtrri, June 27, 2016 - After a two-week training given by instructors of the United States of America, Special Intervention Unit (SIU) of the Kosovo Police today completed training "Tactics in Special Operations". SIU at the end of this training demonstrated at the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety few intervention tactics in high-risk operations.

Present during the demonstration and sharing certificates was Ambassador of the United States of America (USA), Greg Delawe, Director General of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety, Ismail Smakiqi, Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police, Naim Rexha and other representatives.

This training was highly appreciated by participants, in raising the professional level and excellent knowledge acquisition in the field of public safety

Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police, Naim Rexha said that this training is very important for the Kosovo Police. He thanked the United States for continuous assistance to police. Rexha said he was impressed with the way of realizing the exercises.

Hoping that superiors and SIU's operators have benefited from this training, Rexha expressed his willingness to support this unit even further.

While Director General of Academy, Ismail Smakiqi said that this training is very important for all of Kosovo. Smakiqi said that the Academy always has been and it is ready to provide support to such training with all capacity. "We are recognized for provision trainings not only for members of public safety in the country, but also for the region", said Smakiqi.

But SIU's commander, Alban Jetullahu said that two weeks training which was held at Camp Vrella has been a challenge to members of the unit itself.

Being satisfied with the experiences gained from this training,   Jetullahu said that  Special Intervention Unit is a step forward in the realization of the tasks set out in its missions.
