Basic training have started for the integration of the Serb members called

Vushtrri, Feb 08.2016 - At the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety started basic training for integration of Serb members so-called "Civil Protection" in the Republic of Kosovo institutions. The opening ceremony was attended by Minister without Portfolio for dialogue in the Government of  Kosovo, Edita Tahiri, OSCE Ambassador in Kosovo Jean Claude Schlumberger, Eva Gutjahr representative of EULEX mission in Kosovo, Director General of the Academy Ismail Smakiqi and Secretary general of the Ministry of Local Governance, Besnik Osmani.

 

Minister for dialogue in the Government of the Republic of  Kosovo, Edita Tahiri thanked the entire team that has been part of the recruitment of members to integrate into institutions of Republic of Kosovo. Minister Tahiri also thanked the OSCE ambassador and director Smakiqi for creating the space for the implementation of this training.    

Tahiri said that the changes taking place, which came as a result of the dialogue in Brussels, are positive changes.

 

 "Changes are always part of life and you are passing through these changes. It is neither the first, nor the last occurring developments and changes, always societies are looking to integrate those people who could not be integrated, integration is a pleasure for us as the Government of the Republic ", said Tahiri in front of the attendees. She said that the Government is committed to quality and integration is not only an obligation.  

 

Appreciating that the duty of civil servants is a special task, Minister Tahiri said that every civil servant must serve equally for all citizens. "To be devoted civil servants knowledge of the laws which are the basis for public administration are needed, have knowledge of democratic governance, but what is important is that tomorrow as civil servants all parties should be treated equally," she said.

 

While the OSCE Ambassador in Kosovo, Jean Claude Schlumberger, thanked the Government of  Kosovo and all those who were interested in the implementation of this training. By welcoming members of "civil protector" in bringing to the institutions of Kosovo, Ambassador Schlumberger said that for the change of life encouragement is needed. 

"Your presence here is an act of that kind. Foundations of democracy are legal institutions and access to information, then language rights, gender rights and all areas of human rights and freedoms. All these are very important for public institutions and all those who provide services to the citizens of Kosovo ", said Schlumberger. He said that the OSCE mission has contributed and will continue to contribute to public institutions.  

 

While Eva Gutjahr representative of the EULEX mission in Kosovo said the dialogue which aims integration is necessary for all citizens of Kosovo. "This dialogue which aims to integrate is very important and great opportunities for you to integrate in your municipalities," said Gutjahr. 

 

Meanwhile, Director General of the Academy, Ismail Smakiqi, welcoming the participants said that the Academy is responsible for providing training and higher education for all public safety institutions. 

 

By thanking the ambassador Schlumberger for their continuous support to the Academy said that the Academy is internationally recognized as a reliable and professional institution to provide training for all public safety agencies.

 

"During 2014 and 2015 at the Academy have completed the training members of different structures that are integrated into the Kosovo Police, Correctional Service and Emergency Management Agency," said Smakiqi. Director Smakiqi said that the Academy will provide the necessary support in order that this training as well as all other training are successfully completed. 

 

Also Besnik Osmani, Secretary General in the Ministry of Local Government, thanked all those who made possible the realization of this training. Otherwise training will last 5 weeks which will involve 378 members of the so-called "Civil Protection", who will join the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo.
