Swiss Ambassador in Kosovo visited the Academy

Vushtrri, December 8, 2015 - Today the Swiss ambassador in Kosovo, Krystyna Marty Lang visited the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety, she was welcomed by the Director General of the Academy, Ismail Smakiqi. 

Ambassador Marty Lang during this visit took part in the "International Seminar for Police Supervision and Control" organized by the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo (PIK) in the Academy. In honor of this visit was organized the morning parade of the 53rd generation of the Kosovo Police cadets.

Front of the audience, Ambassador Marty Lang, said that police work is very responsible and very important for the country. "You have made a quite brave choice; involvement in the police is a pride, as you protect all citizens regardless of their nationality” said Marty Lang.

According to the Ambassador, considering the circumstances how the worldwide population is living, police work is brave choice. Marty Lang told cadets that upon completion of basic training they will be model of the Kosovo Police.

She said that as a member of the Kosovo Police, the law will always be a guide in their work. "You represent the rule of law, and law forms the basis of building the country," said Marty Lang, by wishing cadets success in their work.

Meanwhile, Director General of the Academy, Ismail Smakiqi the visit of the Swiss Ambassador in Kosovo considered very important.

“This visit we consider as support for the Academy, and for cadets these visits are an inspiration in their determination and additional motivation to succeed that successfully complete basic training," said Smakiqi, saying that after graduating cadets will join eight  thousand Kosovo  police officers who were trained at the academy.

So far, according to Smakiqi Academy trained over 12 thousand law enforcement agencies from six Public Security.  Director Smakiqi said that close cooperation with international security partners, has made the Academy to be recognized internationally as a professional institution to provide training for members of public safety.
