At the Academy took place the presentation of the "Horizon Europe" program
22.03.2022Vushtrri, 21 March, 2022 – At the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS) today was held as an information day about the program "Horizon Europe" and the Association of European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST).
This information was made during the visit made today by representatives from the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MEST) Mrs. Qamile Sinanaj who is the National Coordinator for Kosovo for the "Horizon Europe" Program and she is contact person for Kosovo for the Association of European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) as well as Mrs.Shpresa Mehmeti, contact person for Kosovo for Legal and Financial issues for the “Horizon Europe” program where they met with the Dean of the Faculty of Public Safety Mr. Bejtush Gashi and the staff of the Academy.
The delegation from MEST informed the responsible officials of the Academy, respectively those of the Faculty of Public Safety (FPS) about the opportunity in the field of scientific research and innovation offered by these two mechanisms "Horizon Europe" and "COST".During the presentation, the above-mentioned delegation also gave concrete examples of the application process in both of these programs.
Dean of the Faculty of Public Safety (FPS) Mr.Bejtush Gashi during the meeting expressed satisfaction with the organization of such an event for all those who are interested in learning more about the opportunities offered by the "Horizon Europe" program. The Dean, Mr. Gashi informed the MEST representatives about the concept of higher education in the field of Public Safety offered by the Academy. Mr. Gashi further expressed the need for concrete opportunities to implement projects through cooperation with KAPS partners from the Western Balkans region, Europe and the United States of America.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Institute for Research and Development of the Faculty of Public Safety of KAPS, Mr. Ferid Azemi informed the participants about the activities of the Institute since its establishment until today, mentioning the scientific conferences organized by the Academy in cooperation with international partners. Mr. Azemi also spoke about the projects that are expected to be implemented in the future by the Academy in cooperation with its international partners.
Moreover, during the meeting the participants had the opportunity to be informed about the importance of Kosovo's association in the "Horizon Europe" program and the possibility of international cooperation in scientific research.
Mrs. Qamile Sinanaj, National Coordinator for the “Horizon Europe” program, was focused on the policies of these “Horizon Europe” programs and the Association for European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST). Pointing out that Kosovo is already a full member of this program, Mrs. Sinanaj said that since the beginning of the "Horizon Europe" program, Kosovo has been listed in the associated countries and has been allowed to participate in projects.
"Associate status offers more opportunities to benefit from the program," said Mrs. Sinanaj.
As for the Legal aspect within the "Horizon Europe" program, clarifications were given by Mrs. Shpresa Mehmeti, who is also a national person of contact for Kosovo on Legal and Financial issues for the program in question.
Otherwise, the participants during this information meeting gave comments about the possibility of participating in projects in the "Horizon Europe" program. They estimated that such a thing would serve the benefit of the academic staff and the entire Faculty of Public Safety.
