Anderson delivered lecture to the students of the Faculty of Public Safety

Vushtrri, 28 February 2020 - "Communication Skills with Persons in Crisis - De-Escalation Techniques", and "Best Practices for Officers in Community Disputes", were the topics that today Edward Anderson Director of the Department of Public Order and Security at the OSCE held a lecture to the students of the Faculty of Public Safety within the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety.
The lecture was attended by students and academic staff of the Faculty of Public Safety and KAPS officials.
Initially Director of the OSCE Department of Public Order and Security Edward Anderson said he was privileged to deliver today's lecture at the FSP.
The lecture was very fruitful in expanding students' knowledge of the role of law enforcers in communicating with people in crisis, de-escalation techniques, and finding best practices for officials in disputes with the community.
During this lecture, students contributed by asking questions about topics lectured by the Director of the Department of Public Order and Security at OSCE Mr.Anderson.
Otherwise today's lecture was a great opportunity for students to learn from Director Anderson about his experience and to discuss the problems and challenges of the justice system in Kosovo.
Some objectives that were discussed in this lecture were; define de-escalation, Identification and techniques that improve an officer's ability, improve and train an officer for escalating situations, review resources potentially available to those in need of emotional or mental health assistance, etc.
While the Dean of the Faculty of Public Safety Bejtush Gashi thank the Director of the Department of Public Order and Security in the OSCE Mission in Kosovo Edward Anderson, for the lecture held and the willingness to participate in discussions with students.
