The suicide spectrum in two correctional centres

The purpose of the study is to analyze cases of suicide and attempted suicides in correctional centers in Dubrava and Lipjan. The study utilizes official statistical data from these centers, Kosovo Police and the Statistical Agency of Kosovo. The materials enable to determine the degree of suicides and attempted suicides, situation in some sub-groups and comparison with the overall death- and suicide-rates in Kosovo. The study also aims at finding out the reasons that encourage detainees and prisoners to choose the path of suicide and attempted suicide. This process involves surveying correctional officers.
