A delegation from the German Police University have visited the Academy

Vushtrri, April 27, 2022 - The Kosovo Academy of Public Safety (KAPS) was visited by a group of students from the German Police University lead by Deputy President of the University Mr. Uwe Marquardt and Mr. Dietmar Langrock from Department of the Mission of International Police University of the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community, accompanied by German EULEX and UNMIK officials.

The German delegation was hosted by the Deputy General Director of the Academy, Mr. Kastriot Jashari, with associates. The delegation was briefed on the history of the establishment and development of KAPS as the only public institution for the training and education of public security officials, then on the organizational structure, about current challenges and plans for the future.

“ It is a pleasure to welcome such a very important delegation from Germany, a state which is  friendly for Kosovo and so far to share with you the commitments and ideas for the future, which would not  be realized if we did not have the deep cooperation with the public security institutions of Kosovo and especially the support and assistance from all our international partners, both inside and outside Kosovo ", said among others Mr.Jashari.

Deputy President Marquardt also expressed his satisfaction for his visit to the Academy and informed the participants about the functioning and challenges of the German Police University. He also shared his experience in Kosovo, expressing enthusiasm for all this development and advancement that the Academy has achieved in particular and Public Safety Institutions in general. This visit to the Academy was arranged by the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, where present was also Mr. Edward Anderson, Director of the Department of Public Order and Security, with associates.

Director Anderson expressed the high level of professionalism and responsibility that Kosovo's Public Safety Institutions have already achieved, adding that the Academy is a perfect example of advancement and development, the successful story of which should be shared with all.

Guests from Germany had the opportunity to visit the premises of the Academy, including the new building of the Faculty of Public Safety and the Firearms Training Simulation system (FATS). Both sides agreed on a further deepening of cooperation between the respective institutions from Kosovo and institutions from Germany.
