The representative from the Academy Mr. Emin Uka participated in the annual conference of IADLEST

Vushtrri, May 17, 2023 – The representative of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS), Mr. Emin Uka, participated in the annual international conference of the International Association of Directors of Standards, Training and Law Enforcement (IADLEST) of the United States of America, which was held in Denver Colorado, USA.

 

The delegation from Kosovo was composed by Mrs. Kimberly Riffe, Head of the ICITAP program at the US Embassy in Kosovo, Mr. Emin Uka, Head of the Division for Quality Assurance at the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety and Mrs.Taibe Canolli - Head of Directors at the Human Resources Department at the Kosovo Police.

 


Conference which lasted four days, from May 14 to May 17, 2023, the representative of the Academy, Mr. Emin Uka, has presented the experiences and practices that KAPS has  followed to be accredited by IADLEST.

 

The delegation from Kosovo made a presentation in front of the audience with the topic "Advancement of gender equality through training strategies", such as the empowerment of women in the field of public safety.

 

Also, among other things, the delegation from Kosovo showed their interest in creating an international network for cooperation between the academies of the participating countries in the near future.


Except the USA the participants in this conference were also seventeen other countries, among them Kosovo. The participation of the Kosovo delegation in this conference was made possible by ICITAP of the US Embassy in Kosovo.


The KAPS’s representative, Mr.Emin Uka, thanked ICITAP, which has supported and continues to support the Academy with projects related to the field of public safety.which has supported and continues to support the Academy with projects related to the field of public safety.

 

Otherwise, the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety is the first institution outside the United States of America to receive the award of excellence and to be accredited by IADLEST.

 

IADLEST is an independent body which ensures international standards of law enforcement training, thus ensuring the application of policies and best practices related to standards and training.
