A delegation from Albania, Macedonia and the Netherlands Committee visited the Academy

Vushtrri, November 8, 2022 - The Acting General Director of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety Kastriot Jashari hosted today a delegation from the Juvenile Institution at the Training Academy from Albania, from North Macedonia and from the Helsinki Netherlands Committee.

 

The delegation was composed of Marinela Alia, director of the Juvenile Institution from Albania, Mavrodi Karpicarov, director of the Juvenile Institution from North Macedonia and Annette Van Den Bosch, expert at the Netherland Committee in Helsinki. 

 

The purpose of the visit was discussions about the implementation of the regional project "Towards a safe, stimulating and rehabilitative environment of prisons for children and minors in conflict with the law in Albania, Kosovo and North Macedonia".

 

Acting General Director at the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety Kastriot Jashari, wishing them a welcome, thanks the Netherland Committee in Helsinki for their contribution to the implementation of the project. Jashari estimated that all the respective institutions in Kosovo, Albania and North Macedonia have benefited from this project. 

 

Meanwhile, director Jashari informed the delegation about the developments and achievements at the Academy.

 


Annette Van Den Bosch, expert at the Netherland Committee in Helsinki, thanked the Academy for its hospitality and exchange experiences between countries.

 

"With the professional work and dedication to its institutional development, the Academy is a public safety education institution, a model to follow", said Van Den Bosch, saying that he appreciates the cooperation between the Academy, the Kosovo Correctional Service and the Netherland Helsinki Committee in Kosovo within which project good results have been achieved. 

 

Further, during the meeting, it was said that within the project, trainings have been developed with the aim of increasing the capacities of the Correctional Service for the further development of the process of resocialization and reintegration of children and minors in conflict with the law. 

 

During the meeting, several presentations were made regarding training in the field of juvenile delinquency in cooperation between KAPS, KCS and NHC, the membership of the Academy in international security institutions and the progress of training and higher education at the Academy.


The meeting was attended by representatives from the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety and representatives of public safety agencies.
