A delegation from North Macedonia visited the Academy

Vushtrri, September 1, 2022– The Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS) today is visited a delegation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of North Macedonia headed by Muamet Rexhepi, assistant minister of the department for International Cooperation.  The delegation was hosted at the meeting by the Acting General Director of the Academy Kastriot Jashari as well as by the representatives of the public safety agencies at the Academy. 


The purpose of the visit is in the framework of the cooperation the Academy has with the public safety institutions of North Macedonia.  

 

The Acting General Director of the Academy Kastriot Jashari informed the delegation about the activities and trainings that take place at the Academy.

 

During the meeting, Jashari estimated that this visit will contribute to the strengthening of relations and the realization of joint projects between the Academy and safety institutions in North Macedonia.

 

Acting Director Jashari also spoke about the cooperation that the Academy has with the countries of the region and beyond.

 

Jashari, expressing his readiness for the continuation of cooperation, assessed that the exchange of experiences between safety institutions is necessary and welcome.


While the delegation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs from North Macedonia was mainly interested in the methods that the Academy has for the training and education of members of public safety. 

 

Muamet Rexhepi, assistant minister of the Department for European Union and Cooperation, thanks director Jashari for the hospitality, saying that the purpose of the visit was to be more familiar with the projects carried out at the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety.

 

On this occasion, Assistant Minister Rexhepi expressed his readiness for further cooperation, while he appreciated that cooperation in the realization of projects that advance public safety officials is welcome. 

 

The part of the delegation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of North Macedonia were also Marija Ancevska, head of the International Cooperation Sector, Imran Jonuzi, head of the Unit for Multilateral Cooperation and Dragica Manevska, head of the Unit for Bilateral Cooperation.

 

The visit was carried out by the mission of the Organization for Security and European Cooperation in Kosovo, which continuously supports the Academy in the implementation of projects. 

 

Edward Anderson, director of the Department for Public Order and Security in the OSCE, during the meeting, informed the delegation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of North Macedonia about the implementation of the bilingual project and support with translation software for the Kosovo Police. 

 

At the end of the visit, the delegation visited the campus of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety.
