At the Academy was held the conference "Challenges of transport mobility and public safety"

Vushtrri, 24 January 2020 –  At the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS), was held the seventh international conference, "The Challenges of Transport Mobility and Public Safety" organized by the College ”Tempulli”  in cooperation with the Academy, where were presented some scientific researches  related to public safety and road safety. 



The conference was attended by General Director of the Academy Ismail Smakiqi, Deputy General Director of Kosovo Police Samedin Mehmeti, Director of College "Tempulli"  Muhamed Krasniqi, Mayor of Vushtrri municipality Xhafer Tahiri, representatives of other safety institutions in the country and students from College "Tempulli"  and the Faculty of Public Safety. 



Ismail Smakiqi General Director of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety expresses gladness that the Academy is co-organizer of such an important conference. 



Smakiqi said the Academy is an institution that provides training and higher education to all law enforcement. "All public safety agencies conduct training and higher education in this Academy,” saying that the Academy has made great efforts to create professional teaching programs that comply with European and international standards. 



“We have accreditation and re / accreditation of study programs. Also accreditation based on European standards which enables students and cadets of six agencies to conduct training in the Academy ”, said Smakiqi. 



Smakiqi said that the challenge of traffic safety needs the increased attention of institutions and citizens.



Dean of the Faculty of Public Safety, Bejtush Gashi, said "I have the pleasure and privilege to address you today with a speech at the opening of the proceedings of the 7th International Scientific Conference." He said that the main topic at this conference is the challenge of mobility and public safety, combining two areas of particular importance: road safety within urban mobility and public safety in general.



 Gashi further said that "we live in a changing world in which the challenges of mankind are also changing, but public safety in general and road safety in particular, continue to be one of the main problems for state institutions and our whole society ". 


 Dean Gashi at the end said that seeing the importance of the topics to be addressed, I take this opportunity to express my gratitude to all participants of this conference, who through their work will make this conference meet the set objectives.


Whereas, the director of “Tempulli” College Muhamed Krasniqi greeting the participants said that it is an honour that this conference is held at the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety. He said that this conference aims to bring the latest developments with today's topics which are thirteen in total which are key lectures, publications presentations by different professors of different institutions as well as students.  "While today the world faces many challenges we must be aware of the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation as a need to promote such cooperation within this profession and in applying new knowledge," said Krasniqi.


He further added that international cooperation in engineering facilitates knowledge sharing and promotes new technological applications for a more secure and prosperous future to support the sustainability of human life. In line with the new vision and mission of College "Tempulli" This international conference is another effort to make our vision come true, Krasniqi concluded..



While the Mayor of Vushtrri municipality Xhefer Tahiri addressing the attendees said that it is a pleasure to welcome you as the Mayor of Vushtrri and as the host of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety in the ancient city of Vushtrri. Speaking about the scientific results coming out of this conference, he said that they will help in making politics that through concrete studies to increase the safety of the participants in the traffic.  


During the conference was said that during 2019 were occurred 16 thousand and 199 accidents in which 113 people lost their lives in these accidents.
