A delegation from Qatar visited the Academy

Vushtrri, 02 July 2019 – Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS) today visited a delegation from the Ministry of Interior of Qatar, led by Col. Ali Hassan Al-Kubaisi, Director of the Department of Economic and Electronic Crime where they met with the General Director of the Academy Ismail Smakiqi.

The delegation during the visit was accompanied by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Selami Shkodra and Amir Ahmeti acting Ambassador of Kosovo in Qatar.

The delegation from Qatar was also accompanied by Colonel Mohammed Ahin Ali -Ahin General Director of Civil Protection, Captain Issa Saleh Abdullah Al-Khualifi General Director of the General Directorate of Public Safety, lieutenant Saud Mohammed Saud Al-Dulaimi of the Police Training Institute and lieutenant Khalid Mohammed Al-Sahl from the Department of International Cooperation.

The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted closely with the work-scope of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety.

During the meeting between the two sides it was discussed about finding a way of cooperation in the field of safety between the Kosovo Academy and the Academy of Public Safety of Qatar.

On this occasion the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Selami Shkodra thanked director Smakiqi for hosting, while congratulating him on the work done at the Academy.

"Director Smakiqi is meritorious for the development of the Academy, staff development here, but it is also worthy of the cooperation with the international partners," said Shkodra, who on this occasion expressed readiness for Cooperation with the State of Qatar.


General Director of the Academy Ismail Smakiqi notifies the delegation of its achievements, challenges and the development of trainings in KAPS. 

Director Smakiqi informed the delegation on the important developments and important processes of the Academy for the functioning of the Faculty of Safety, for the two twinning projects that have already been successfully completed.

Also within this visit the delegation was informed about the ongoing cooperation of the Academy with the European Police academies and beyond.


Announcing the delegation for international co-operation that have Academy, Director Smakiqi expressed his willingness to cooperate with the state of Qatar, namely with the Public Safety Academy there. As he said, co-operation may be in the exchange of experiences between two safety academies in field of security for safety agencies officials. 

"Such cooperation is welcomed," said Smakiqi.

The Qatar delegation expressed their interest in the recruitment process of public safety officials in Kosovo, and on the development of training at the Academy. The delegation also shows their interest in co-operation.

"This is just the beginning of co-operation and building bridges. We are ready to cooperate on exchanging experiences in the safety field, "said Colonel Ali Hassan Al-Kubaisi, Director of the Department of Economic and Electronic Crime.
