A delegation of the United States Department has visited the Academy

Vushtrri, March 20, 2019 – A delegation from the United States Department, led by Mrs. Sarah Swatzburg, Assistant Coordinator of US for Europe, Euro Asia and Central Asia, Department of the United States, accompanied by Mr. Matthew Briggs Economic Sector, US Embassy in Kosovo, Mrs. Drita Perezic Senior Advisor to ICITAP Executive Management Program at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Mrs. Remzije Ibrahimi National Coordinator at ICITAP, today  has visited  the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS), where he was welcomed by the Director General of the Academy Mr. Ismail Smakiqi and by the Academy's management staff; Directors of Departments Mr. Rrahim Rexha, Mr. Kastriot Jashari and Mr. Shpend Shabani.

Director General of the Academy Mr.Ismail Smakiqi, informed the delegation about the developments in the Academy, its history and plans for the future.

Director Smakiqi thanking the delegation for the visit also informed them about the current training being held in the Academy as well as those that will be held in the near future.

Particularly emphasizing, the Director also has told to delegation about the accreditation process of the Academy by the National Qualifications Authority as well as the International Accreditation of the Academy that was made by the International Association of Standards Directors and the Law Enforcement Training of the United States of America (IADLEST)

On this occasion, Director Smakiqi thanked the United States of America, namely the US Embassy in Kosovo and ICITAP for the contribution and donations they have given to the Academy.
 
Director Smakiqi also informed the delegation about the trainings conducted by ICITAP such as the "School of Police Staff and Command" training, which is held annually at the Academy. 

While, the delegation of the United States Department, thanked the Director for the hospitality, also they feel happy about their visit to the Academy.

Mrs. Sarah Swatzburg Coordinator Assistant for Europe, Euro Asia and Central Asia, the United States Department was interested in the training and study programs developed at the Academy, inter-ethnic relations during the training process, as well as a conversation about understanding of the Community Policing.

The delegation visited the Academy Campus as well as the Firearm Simulation Room (FATS), which is donated by the US, and also they have participated in the training of the Kosovo Police cadets.
