Participants of the regional conference on specialized police training visited the Academy

Vushtrri , 13 June  2017 –The Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS) today visited a delegation of police officials from Albania, Montenegro, Serbia, Croatia and Macedonia, who are participants in the regional conference on specialized police training, the purpose of which is to raise Cooperation with regional countries and exchange of best practices on the management of specialized police training by participating countries. 

The delegation was hosted by the Director General of the Academy, Ismail Smakiqi, who informed them on the Academy's activity since its establishment until today.

Director Smakiqi also spoke about the recent developments in the Academy relate to the re-accreditation process as well as on the training provided by the Academy for all public safety agencies.

On this occasion, the delegation was informed about the co-operation that the Academy has with safety institutions whether local or international.

"The Academy has cooperation with Montenegro, with Albania and soon is expected to sign cooperation agreements with Macedonia and other countries," continues Smakiqi , saying that the Academy will continue to be the main institution for training of members of Public safety.

"Thanks to the permanent partner of the Academy, ICITAP, who constantly supports us to build more credible institutions for citizens," said Smakiqi.

Smakiqi has also highlighted the establishment of the Faculty of Public Safety, as well as the possibility of establishment of a master program in the very near future. 

Meanwhile, Dave Harvey from the association IADLEST thanking Director Smakiqi said that the Academy is an good example for the  work has done and for providing many professional trainings.

"The work done here is very impressive and we should take you an example of how you are focused on leadership, I congratulate you," said Harvey.  

Otherwise, the conference organized by the Kosovo Police and supported by ICITAP will last three days.
